I’m Dr. Betsy Usher, a revolutionary healer who thinks differently. I don’t follow the strict rules of traditional psychology. My life has been shaped by my own deep experiences with trauma. As well as living in a world dominated by patriarchal systems

For a long time, I tried to fit into a system that didn’t let me be my whole self. It didn’t allow me to face my deepest pain or find a way to live a life that feels real, free and strong.

As a psychologist, I was taught to get rid of the parts of myself that I thought were bad. But I believe in something called parts work. It’s about loving every part of yourself – even the tough ones – and letting them help you grow.

Healing is messy and that’s okay. Women have been told for hundreds of years to stay neat and perfect. To wear makeup and a smile. But I say messy is good – it’s how we flow as women. Healing doesn’t go in a straight line. It doesn’t follow rules or old ideas men have forced on us. We see those ideas in places like medicine and mental health where men have been in charge for too long. Women have always been healers, but men have led the mental health world.

Even today, we don’t hear enough from women in psychology. Women’s natural gifts as healers and creators have been ignored, and they’ve had to ask men for permission to do this work.

My work changes that. I’m done asking for permission. I help women find their voice and heal in their own way, on their own terms.

Who I Serve:

I work with women who are searchers, survivors, and changemakers. You’ve been through tough times—often because of men—and feel trapped by a world that says you’re too loud, not good enough, or should stay quiet. You want more. You’ve tried regular therapy but found it too stiff, cold, and far from what you really feel

My clients are tired of following society’s rules. They want to take back their strength, feel safe in themselves, and live a life that’s not about what others expect. They’re ready to heal in a way that feels true, bold, and special to them. They want to break free from old ideas—mostly from men—and live as the strong, amazing women they really are.

What I Do:

I help women heal deeply from the pain of trauma, addiction, and unfair rules society puts on them. My work focuses on understanding how your body reacts to stress and building a safe space where you can rest, think, and change. Together, we tackle:

  • Erotic and Sexual Liberation: Many women feel hurt about their sexuality because of trauma or pressure from others. Healing this is a gentle, special process of feeling good in your body again—safely and truly.

  • Addiction and Trauma: Addiction often starts as a way to hide from pain. I guide women to let go, face their sadness, and take back their strength. Anger, when handled well, can push them to grow and change.

  • Relationships and Couples Work: Trauma often leaves us struggling with vulnerability and connection. I work with women and couples to create relationships that honor safety, authenticity, and mutual respect.

  • A Woman’s Journey: Women create life, but for too long, they’ve had to follow men’s rules and hide their power. I help women see their value, feel their anger at what’s wrong, and live freely—not held back by men’s ideas. This is a big change, and we’ll lead it.

  • A Man’s Journey: I also work with men who want to take charge of their addictions, actions, and relationships. These are men ready to grow, question how they see things, understand women better, and stop feeling stuck in their lives.

My Vision for Healing

There’s a way beyond the world men have controlled—a place where women can create, flow, and live without being held back by men. After being a mother and before becoming an elder, there’s a strong woman who finds herself again; I call her the heiress.

In this place, we don’t live by men’s anger, fighting, or breaking things. Instead, we focus on making, caring, and fiercely taking back our safety, our bodies, and our lives. Together, we’ll rise.
